Venues throughout the East Neuk: 28th June – 2nd July 2017
ENF prides itself on being wide open to the world but rooted in Fife. Every year it brings musicians from all over the world to perform in the intimate venues of East Neuk towns including Crail, Anstruther, Kilrenny, St Monans, Elie and Cellardyke.
This year’s eclectic programme features 5 concerts of Schubert performed by some of the world’s top Schubertians including Elisabeth Leonksaja, Belcea Quartet, Thomas Oliemans and Malcolm Martineau. Clarinetist Julian Bliss plays Mozart, Reich and Latin Jazz. Guitarist, Sean Shibe plays music ancient and modern ranging from the soft sound of Renaissance lute collections to the urban rage of David Lang’s Killer. Musicians from Norway and Scotland join forces for an afternoon of Scottish and Nordic traditional and classical music. At the heart of the programme, musicians from Fife reflect on the musical heritage of Fife’s miners in De Profundis.
For the first time ENF partners East Neuk Open Studios, bringing a programme of exhibitions and workshops to festival time.
